A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Flora Mini Marathon on Monday 7 June 2010 and for making ‘ 1 in 1000′ happen. We couldn’t have done it without you and your support. It was wonderful to see you all in your orange t-shirts at the Harcourt Hotel and the atmosphere was fantastic.
Because of you and your tremendous fund raising efforts we have surpassed our goal of €200,000 and we will keep you posted with updates as the count increases.
Thanks once again for making a difference to the lives of children with CF.

The aim of 1 in 1000 — Running for Cystic Fibrosis, was to mobilize 1000 women to participate in the Flora Mini Marathon on 7 June 2010.
We asked each woman to get at least €200 in sponsorship to enable us to raise the sum of €200,000 required to complete a new four bed Cystic Fibrosis isolation unit in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.
The intention was also to bring women together for a great cause, raising spirits, awareness, support and a huge sense of achievement.
How can you help?
- Register for the 2010 Dublin Flora Women’s Mini Marathon & raise at least €200 for 1 in 1000. Runners, joggers, walkers and crawlers are all welcome!
- Sponsor someone or take a sponsorship card.
- Spread the word and encourage people to join 1 in 1000.
Why you should be part of 1 in 1000
- Get fit, eat healthy, and achieve a goal.
- Be part of a team, have some fun and do something good.
- Do something powerful and make a real difference to the lives of children with Cystic Fibrosis.
- Be part of something far greater than any one of us alone can.
It sounds simple and it is, particularly when you realise how quickly we’re already moving towards that magical 1000. So join us, and become 1 in 1000!
About Us
1 in 1000 is a unique initiative founded by six women; grandmother, mother, aunt, sister and cousins, who wanted to do something for CF following the diagnosis of Emily and Lana Woodward, now aged 4 years and 2 years.
The need to fit out the unit in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin gives them a tangible project to work towards and something they could put their hearts behind. Working together they hope to build an exciting event that will rally 1000 women to do something incredible.
They hope that 1 in 1000 will not only raise the target of €200,000 but will create a strong network of women who will feel part of something bigger than themselves, and have some fun along the way.
